MY CRAFT. Before publication 11 is a conversation between Véronique Bacchetta and Nicolas Trembley, focused on his curatorial practice and his growing interest in decorative arts, crafts and ceramic. Through this conversation, Nicolas Trembley expands on the history of the Japanese Mingei movement, a movement he has organized five exhibitions on, and its place in contemporary art. This conversation unfolds by examining the role of the exhibition curator; not only in relation to the notion of selection, choice, and the construction of coherent and meaningful collections of artworks and craft objects—sometimes even from everyday life—but also regarding the creation of displays and the organization of exhibition space architecture.
